Mar 31, 2010 3:40 PM | Another week of competitive football at Ruffin Rd has come and gone! Its amazing how slim the difference is between winning and losing in this league. Just ask Blueprint about week 2 against the Gunz and Swagger about last week against D-Mob. Both were close to pulling the big upset but couldn`t quite get it done. Everyone has good athletes and experience, but the best teams just figure out how to win (or at least not lose) the close games.
After three weeks of play here are my new rankings:
#1 Gunz (3-0, 2-0) Still not blowing anyone out, but they don`t care. When you`re at their level its only about championships.
#2 D-Mob (3-0, 2-0) Surprised to see them in such a close game with Swagger, but a win is a win. Playmaker is a little gimpy, but the defense is the best around and keeps them in any game.
#3 AmFam (3-0, 3-0) They`re the only team in the league with 3 "A league" wins. Should I move them up in the rankings? Heck no! That`s like asking if I should piss on an electric fence! AmFam is playing pretty well, but let`s see if they can win consistently.
#4 Swagger (1-2, 1-2) Played D-Mob to the wire. I think they`re getting better and have they`re best D in a while. Could make a run in the playoffs.
#5 Westwood (1-2, 0-2) Played AmFam tough this week but couldn`t pull it out either. Tough call between them and FU for the #5 spot. On one hand FU has an A-league win and WW has none. Ended up choosing WW b/c the two teams have one common opponent. WW played AmFam close this week, FU got blown out by them a week ago, so WW gets the #5 spot.
#6 FU (1-2, 1-2) Good to see these guys get a W under their belts and move out from the basement of the league. Like I said above they almost moved up two spots with the win. I can`t wait to see WW and FU go at it in the battle of the "draw it up in the dirt offenses" in week 6.
# 7 Blueprint (0-3, 0-3) Two weeks, two close losses. Still calling for them to upset someone.
Predictions: None! It`s cross-league week, all of the A-teams are favorites and should win! The most likely upset is probably Swagger vs. New Breed which I`m not quite calling for, but its possible.

1) If beating WUW is only worth a B league win and that is considered our 2nd cross-league game, then there is something wrong.
2) We don`t draw it up in the dirt. We draw it up in the grass.
3) I hope we have 8 people Saturday.

1) I heard that WUW was really short on guys that day (didn`t see it myself), and were using a couple of fans who were there wearing jeans. Either way, you got the nod over FU and the next two teams above you got you head to head.
2) It doesn`t matter where you draw it up, it works! Just keep drawing that craziness up and keep scoring.
3) If you don`t have enough on Saturday, just pick up those guys in jeans that WUW used, I heard they`re pretty good. hahaha! | AmFamFit asst coach |

I enjoy reading the prediction each week. However, Amfam should be at least 2nd if not 1st "this week". The strengh of schedule is on our side. The big two played 6 games between them and the teams they played only has 1 a league win. We played 3 A level teams. It may or may not change after week 5 and 6 but for now AMFAM Fit Should hold the number 1 shot. Let me back up lets not over look the purple this week. Dragons see ya saturday. DJ won`t sleep until then. HA Ha!!! | Kirk

To AmFamFit #5 - I`m glad to see you make a case for your team. However, you AmFam boys are absolutely crazy! I don`t think anyone on this board would agree with you that you deserve to be in the top two.
Here`s how the BCS is calcutated 33% - AP Pole (basically, my opinion (if people start to give me their opnion on the board I`ll take it into consideration). 33% - Coach`s Pole (again my opintion), 33% computer rankings (not really by computer, but I do think about strength of schedule, results vs. common opponents, quality wins, bad losses, etc.)
So, with 66% of the rankings basically being my opinion, I don`t see AmFam moving up unless they can beat the Gunz or D-Mob. Plain and simple, if you want to be the best, you`ve got to beat the best! | AmFamFit asst coach |

"um we number 1 until someone beats us that is all.lls" - Thanks for adding to the conversation Gunz. Very helpful and insightful commentary.
Looks like someone did beat you this weekend. You beat yourself. I know games were on a Saturday and on a holiday weekend, but what`s up with that? I wouldn`t expect a team as experienced and established as the Gunz to not be able to get 8 guys to show up and hang a "W". What happened Gunz? | See
