After two weeks of play the here are my first weekly BCS rankings for the A League. If you don`t agree with the rankings speak up! Tell me why your favorite squad should be ranked higher!
#1 - Teligon Gunz - The defending State and National Champs don`t seem to be firing on all cylinders just yet, and really struggled against a good, but new to the league Blueprint squad. But, you know Smy will have his boys playing their best in the big games. So, the Gunz stay #1 until someone knocks them off.
#2 - D-Mob - Playing the best ball in the land right now and a perennial title contender (also defending league champs). They should coast until their week 8 high noon showdown with the Champs.
#3 - AmFam - Has this talented team finally gotten over the hump? Have they learned how to win the close game? Are they ready to challenge the big two?
Corso - "Not so fast my friend. These guys are good but still haven`t earned the respect they`ve been dying to get."
# 4 - Team Swagger - After a flat opening week against AmFam they picked up a quality win against Westwood. Enough skill here to be a winner with some good coaching on the sidelines. It’s a little confusing why they don`t play better more consistently.
#5 - Westwood - These guys and their wild offense can score enough points to beat anyone on any given Sunday.
#6 - Blueprint - They`re experienced and smart, but there are no easy A-League wins. Don`t let these guys sneak up on you. I fully expect them to knock off a higher ranked team or two this season. Keep an eye on possible upsets in Week 5 against the Swaggers and Week 7 against AmFam.
To Blueprint - "You`re 0 and 2, but don`t get discouraged. You`ve played two of the best teams in the state, probably the nation. Hey, that`s why you moved from Chesterfield. Welcome to the league. Make some noise!"
#7 - Family United - What!? This squad can`t be ranked last in the league, way too much talent. However, the numbers don`t lie, check the scoreboard. Big question is can they find a spark on offense? Without CP they`re averaging single digit points per game right now. That`s not going to win many games in the league.
This weeks picks:
Gunz vs Heismen - Heismen has some athletes but nowhere near enough experience. Gunz 28 - Heismen 6.
DMob vs Team Swagger - A heated battled, but DMob has too much speed and too much defense. DMob 28 - T Swagg 6.
Blueprint vs FU - Big question for me is: Is Blueprint used to defending a spread system? I`m guessing they have and can manage it. Still calling for a high scoring affair. Blueprint picks up their first W! Blueprint 28 - FU 20.
AmFam vs Westwood - Upset alert! AmFam comes out a little too confident after beating Westwood their last few meetings and playing well in weeks 1 & 2. The Wood`s offense explodes, Troy`s offense gets desperate and forgets the game plan. Westwood 20 - AmFam 14.
To the B - League - Sorry for the lack of coverage. No disrespect. I know there is some good football going on there too, I just don`t know the league well enough to comment. Plus, look how long this thing is already, I need to get a life!

Thanks!!!!! You are back!!!! Great predictions expect the part about me forgetting the game plan. The gameplan is very simple get the ball to paul,avery,travis and dave. However, I may forget the lineman sometimes, but don`t sleep on them. This is March madness so anything can happen. There have been upsets all week long. Two #1 seeds are no longer playing and a couple of higher seeds are getting beat. Westwood good luck and I will see you Sunday!! P.S. Smitty lets switch up- You stay in the pocket and I will run the option. |

I`m changing my name to Smitty OchoSourceO. Every week I will shoot a light jab at the other team.
Troy will have the worst game of his flag career because Paul will be wearing a blanket named Lance...so running that option might be a good idea, Troy.

One other thing:
nothing in the A is an upset unless it is somebody other than Gunz or D-Mob beating Gunz or D-Mob.

Congrats to FU for fighting their way out of the basement. It was painfull to put them last in the rankings, glad I won`t have to do it again this week.
Blueprint - keep bringing it, you`re close.
Nice job AmFam for dodging the upset bullet and not slipping up against a tough opponent. Holding Westwood to one score is impressive.
I agree with Source that there is a lot of parity in the league after the Gunz and D-Mob. However, I think that AmFam is starting to pull away from the pack. If they can hold serve against BluePrint they will have beating all A-league oppenents, except the big boys. No one else will match that.
Everyone: Let me know your thoughts on handle Swagger and Westwook in the rankings. They both lost this week, but played higher ranked teams really close. Should they go down or hold their spots? |
