Jun 01, 2009 12:25 PM | Well since the season is officially over I am going to go head and break down how the season ended. A playoff that started with 8 teams who worked hard to have the chance to compete for the title, ended when only 1 team walked away victorious with the Crown of Ruffin Rd. and that was WUW.
#1 Seed Gunz won their first game in dramatic fashion after scoring a td in the last 30 secs to put them ahead of #8 seeded FU. A last sec throw went incomplete and Gunz advanced to the 2nd round. #2 seed WUW went to work on #7 seeded Heismen sorta like they did in the first meeting with the O doing whatever they wanted to do, and the D shutting Heismen down, to advance to the 2nd round. #3 AmFam beat #6 seeded Power in a rematch of a blowout a few weeks earlier, but this time Power came to play and alsmost got the upset, but like my girl Brandy said "Almost doesn`t count." #4 seed WWood got the business from #5 seeded Prime in a rematch that Wood won in which Prime said was a "fluke." Well you are only as good as your last performance and if youre good enough to beat them once, you should be able to beat them twice! So maybe you guys were right Prime, Prime advance to the 2nd round.
(Final 4) #1 Gunz, #2 WUW, #3 AmFam, #5 Primetime
#2 WUW vs. #3 AmFam- This game was a good close game like the first meeting in which WUW beat Fam. Both Offenses scored points, and it would come down to which D could get the stop to help their team win. WUW D got the stop they needed and the WUW O ran the clock out and advanced to the Championship. #1 Gunz vs. #5 Primetime- This was a rematch also, the first meeting Gunz beat Prime in O.T. after they scored and Prime failed to punch in a score after getting inside the 15 yd line. This time both teams came out firing it looked like a Mavericks and Suns game two teams with Offenses scoring whenever they want but neither team is stopping the other from scoring. In the end Gunz do what they always do in a close game they score late, but this time they dont get the stop they usually do, Prime throws up a prayer and pulls it down to upset the Gunz! Primetime advances to the championship.
#2 WUW vs. #5 Primetime (Championship) During the season WUW was criticized for playing what was called a weak schedule, since they didnt play Gunz or Prime, and also for losing to Wood. They kept fighting and winning after their set back and earned their way in the championship game. Prime on the other hand started on a roll but two consecutive losses and a near loss to FU had everyone wondering were they really a good team. They silenced the critics by beating the same two teams they lost to get in the championship game. This game was a good one! Both teams deserved to be there and the two teams Offenses and Defenses played a good game. Both Offenses were scoring and it came down to WUW D stopping Prime on a conversion try to put them up for good. Prime got another shot but unlike against the Gunz their last sec pass went incomplete, and WUW takes the Crown of Ruffin Rd.
It was a great season fellas, very exciting and interesting. WUW mad props go out to your team for even playing in the Richmond league and also for taking the Ship! Peezy, Rome I just gave yall my conclusion of the season, now its yall turn.
I`m out! God Bless the Troops fighting for out Country
