playoffs
May 09, 2009 7:41 PM | Gunz 14 ww 11 WUW 11 Amfam 11 PT 10 Ipower 9 Heisman 7 FU 6
Gunz vs FU rematch of todays game. FU didnt score so Gunz move on..
WW vs Heisman the wood is feeling it right now and have a swagger. heisman cant score enough points to keep up. Rel takes over the QB spot to quick instead of letting the white boy figure it out.
WUW vs Ipower rematch of next weeks game. dont think ipower had the POWER( the old power) to keep up with the jones. WUW wins as they will next week.
Am Fam vs PT the best 1st round match up of the playoffs. I think Joe and the boyz will get it together and be a lil to fast for am fam. PT in a nail bitter.
2nd round
Wow Gunz(1 seed)vs PT(5 seed) PT played Gunz Close 1st time and will do the same again but still come up short. Gunz win.
WW(2) vs WUW (3)rematch of the epic battle of week 5. Smitty is smart enough and scouts enough to find another way to beat them again. WW wins but in another close one.
Championship
Gunz(1) vs WW(2) rematch of next weeks game(gunz win that game). could next weeks game be the make up of the giants vs pats week 17 game from 2007? rem that gave the giants the confidence to win the super bowl once they faced them again..............naaaaaaaaan, WW will play them tough and hard and will learn alot from these next few weeks and will do alot of growing up because of it.but at the end of the day the Gunz will hold their 5th league ship in a row. thats 2 1/2 years that noone has touched them.
I would like to see WW win it all so prove me wrong

The Playoffs will be interesting... Dont expect it to be Gunz vs.WW though. Its going to be another good game with Gunz n Prime, and I dont see Westwood playing another perfect game like they did before to beat WUW. But cant wait til it starts, and see who holds up the ship come may 31st! |

Mr. Football wat made you come up with that line up for the playoffs? |

May 11, 2009 01:18 AM | subject: re: playoff Matchups
is the old formula not in effect? WW1 1 throu 4 against WW2 A throu D. 1 plays D, 2 plays C, 3 plays B, and 4 plays A. a divisional match-up may not be seen until round two if then. so for Mr. Football it would be gunz vs. heismen, ww vs. ipower, primetime vs. am fam, and fu vs. wuw. work from that form, see how the outcome may be. |

it`s too early to tell. There still could be some significant switching based on next week. Most of your opinions are bias on this messageboard anyway. You have to let everything play out. You may be surprised who gets in. |

My playoff matchups are based on the new playoff formula. The seedings are based on the point system. #1 plays #8, #2 plays #7, #3 plays #6, and #4 plays #5. I looked at the week 8 schedule and I`m pretty sure with all of the tie breakers and everything else these matchups are set. Any upsets in week 8 will make these null and void.
Gunz over FU WUW over Heismen AM FAM over Power Primetime over Westwood
Semis- Gunz v. Primetime, WUW v. AM FAM
That`s the four best teams in the league playing in the semis. That`s the way it is supposed to be. |
4 Best Teams?
May 11, 2009 10:14 AM | subject: re: playoff Matchups
How is Westwood not 1 of the 4 best teams? They beat 2 of the teams you have mentioned in your semis. |

A perfect game. Would b stopping your opp. Every time they have the ball and scoring every time your off has the ball. Wood hasn`t played a perfect game yet. But don`t expect Wood to under achieve now. Since they have gotten a already scary offense on track n the def gets better every week. I watched the Prime game and it was one of the beat games this year. Pressure causes mistakes. Both teams applied pressure. Big plays on off and def. With the last mistake being a low short sideway kick. I dont know what its purpose was but Wwood made it work and ended up making a play out of it. Big ups to the game wizardry of Mr. Ptime but his players sometimes play not so smart. And just don`t have the muscle to b physical. Wwood On another note. Can do sm diff things on off. The line is smart. Physical. Deceptive. And make plays. Outside of Guns I bl they may have the moat versatile lineman in the league. No disrespect to afam a good solid bunch of blockers, I power who also have some good lineman. But they make Mike a nightmare. Bc u have to account for them at all times. Guns have thw physicality to off-set WWood. It will be like that NY giants vs NE patriots . Which by the way was a good analogy. Whouwit will b a gd test for I power bc ***ardless of what happens. They will see similar test with speed at the qb and wide open off attack. The big question will be can Ed! Get a those quarterbacks. If he can`t get Whouwits qb its a wrap. |

I really don`t mean any disrespect with my picks. Westwood is a good team, but I`m still not a beleiver that they`re a top team. I think that they have played a couple of good teams, but until they beat a team like the Gunz, D-Mob, Firm, Canes, or get to Sunday in states they are still just an OK team. The good thing is that WW will get a chance to prove me wrong this weekend. I`ll be curious to see if they will be happy just playing a "good game" against the Gunz. There are really no moral victories. I guess we`ll all see on Sunday. |

May 11, 2009 12:31 PM | subject: re: playoff Matchups
When I said Wwood played a perfect game to beat WUW I mean they scored on every drive in which 3 drives they got a 4th down conversion by inches, scored another td by throwing it up beofre the half and the back making a play, and another td on 4th n goal where the guy barely had two feet in for the score. I dont mean a dominating performance, and I dont think they are capable of dominating a good team because Wwood D is not good enough to do so. The playoffs are around the corner and we will see who the best teams are! |

We beat Firm last year.
And we don`t really do the moral victory thing so. We shall see how it goes Sunday. |

Mr. Football, So if Wood loses to Gunz they drop a couple spots in the standings and become the 5th seed? and everyone else moves up if they win of course? |

ok
May 11, 2009 4:48 PM | subject: re: playoff Matchups
ok so let say ww lose to the gunz. Right now they should have the #2 seed. They would be what 6-2..They should own the Tie breaker over wuw and primetime b/c they beat them head to head..If they do lose to the Gunz, ww should not drop down no lower than a 3 seed...And If Gunz happen to lose which i doubt, then they should have the 2 seed |
Playoffs
May 11, 2009 6:30 PM | subject: re: playoff Matchups
If Wwood lose to Gunz then they wont be in a tie breaker wit WUW or primetime since the ranings are based off W/L, then head to head, then PCT. So WUW will get the 2 spot bein 7-1, and Wood being 6-2. They might fall below Fam since they both should finish 6-2, and no head to head game to decide the difference. Thats how they could slid to 4th since they would get the nod over Prime with the head to head win |
ok okay
May 11, 2009 6:41 PM | subject: re: playoff Matchups
All this shoulda coulda woulda crap is ridiculous. There is a point system to determine the seeds for reasons like this. If the season plays out like Mr. Football described how the he** can Westwood own the tie breaker against WUW a 7-1 team if WUW beat I power? If the Gunz lose then I`m sure they will say it is their fault and they would have to take the seed that the #s give them just like everybody else.
In your scenario the Wood should not drop because they lost to the Gunz but where did their second L come from powerhouse RBI which got blown out by WUW. Then there is Primetime case they lost to Wood and Gunz two teams with good records why should they suffer? Am Fam lost to the Gunz and WUW why shouldn`t they be the #2 seed. If Wood wants a high seed they need to beat the Gunz out of the teams mentioned in these scenarios they do own some tie breakers but they also have THE WORST LOSE OUT OF THE BUNCH. Sunday will clear a lot of things up but a lot of teams have legit arguments so stop looking thru your Wood goggles and lets talk football. The teams will battle it out on the field and as long as you get in the playoffs you have a shot. Look at Am Fam a couple of seasons ago 2-6 *** season then runner ups in the playoffs. |

May 11, 2009 6:45 PM | subject: re: playoff Matchups
As of right now Wwood and WUW both have 6-1 records wit 11 Rk points, which means Wwood has to win to get a higher seed then WUW, if not den they will have a worst W/L and fewer Rk points which dictate rank. If Gunz lose then they can slide to 3rd with a 7-1 record, but fewer Rk points then WUW if WUW wins. The playoffs ranking comes down to the last week of the season! |

May 11, 2009 7:00 PM | subject: re: playoff Matchups
Exactly.. I was just pointing out to ok that a lot of teams have legit claims but Wood controls their own destiny so if they want the high seed its theirs for the taking. But if they lose they will get punished for losing to RBI which they have only themselves to blame. Waiting on a Peezy breakdown dear mama special and a Berman rankings on the side. lol

to oh okay
May 11, 2009 7:08 PM | subject: re: playoff Matchups
You make some good points, Wwood would not own a tie breaker over WUW if wood loses cuz they would have the worst w/l. Primetime does have an argument but not a big one since Wood beat them head to head which gives Wood the advantage. Fam cant move above WUW even with a WUW lost since the tiebreaker goes to WUW. The only way Wood gets a 1 or 2 seed is to win, they may not even get the 3 with a loss to Gunz. Its like the BCS if you lose early its not that bad, but when u lose late it hurts the most! |
yes.....

Man, I told ya`ll I have done extensive research and crunched all of the numbers to come up with my playoff scenarios. Read the fine print on the schedule. Rankings are based on the following: Rating Points, Head to Head, and then PCT. Barring upsets I have it exactly right. We`ll all see Sunday evening. |
