Apr 28, 2009 10:52 AM | The heat is on.
Figuratively...and literally.
What ever happened to 72 degrees? We go from 55 to 95. Whoa.
Week 5 was a hot day with some hot contests. And then there were 2.
Week 6 brings us the biggest matchup of the year thus far. But we will get to that in the week 6 G.O.T.W. breakdown....or as Chuck Brown says on Madden 09 "BREEAAAAAAAKKK-Dooooowwwwwwnnnnn"
FU 2-3 vs SoCo 1-4
Speaking of HOT...FU is on "FIYAH" M.O.P style. The Offensive explosion mixed with the already solid (now shutdown) defense makes for a team on the come up.
SoCo falls 4 yards short of victory (or at least a tie) vs PT. Tough team, tough break.
FU is rolling...especially DURING the game. FU by 12 ************************************ AmFamFit 3-2 vs New Breed 2-3
AmFam is also on a roll. Back in the mix after winning 3 straight, looks like they are still in the mix for the division title.
New Breed`s constant search for respect has taken them from 2-0 to 2-3. Talk is cheap and 3 straight L`s should quiet even the biggest talkers. The playoffs are still in sight, but without a win this week there may be prahlums making the elite 8.
Uh Oh...AmFam is heating up at the right time. AmFam by 14 ************************************* i-Power 4-1 vs RBI 3-2
Power is as Power does. Looking like the Baltimore Ravens SB squad with little O and lots of Defense, Power is quietly handling their biz. Only a loss to the champs keeps them from being unblemished.
RBI is surprising the critics and sitting above flag equator. But I am confused. They gave Westwood their only L and gave Heismen their only W. "Ri RON`T Row..." - Scooby Doo But their next 3 games will tell the story.
Story 1 - A defensive battle with one TD between the 2 teams. Power by 4 ************************************** Westwood 4-1 vs U Suspects 1-4
Westwood showed up in a big way knocking off the New Kids on the Blizzock. The O is still flourishing and the D played tough against the #1 O.
Suspects have not graced the scoreboard since week 3. The loss of their leader and qb has taken its toll this season. But these guys aren`t quitters and still have a heartbeat. But it is fading fast.
Westwood continues their winning ways. Westwood by 12 *************************************** Pro-cess 0-5 vs Heismen 1-4
Pro-cess continues to struggle. Don`t quit on yourselves. Rome wasn`t built in a day.
Heismen couldn`t "Fight the POWER"-Chuck D. But even with a 0 point performance they still get respect. And basically, these teams have nothing in common.
Heismen will come to save their fleeting hopes for playoff life. Heismen by 15 *************************************** WhoUWit 4-1 vs Dragons 0-5
WhoUWit, coming off of a reality check, are still a force to be reckoned with. One L don`t stop no show. Believe it.
Dragons still scuffling.
WhoUWit by 30 ************************** Game of the Week to come...after this... |

You requested it so we rewind ------------------------------ 2008 Gunz/Primetime
Gunz win a close one in the playoffs but gain respect for Sanders` Heroes.
Fast forward almost a year later.
Gunz win the WWFFA Sunday Spring and Fall, National and State ships.
Primetime wins the WWFFA Weeknight Spring and Fall ships.
It doesn`t get any better than this:
Gunz O historically great but slowed by boredom and lack of incentive this season. Even with that, they remain top 5 on O.
Primetime O historically great but slowed by boredom and ego. Even with that they remain top 5 on O.
Gunz D is solid in crunch time...and this season is performing at what could be an all time high. The addition of Boo Boo (no..not boo boo the fool - unless you mean Boo Boo the flag pulling fool), and others along with the mainstays Chris and Floyd make for a rumble up front.
Primetime D will be bringing the heat. 4 on the floor. Pressure Cooker style. And the DBs are ball hawks. You throw picks, house calls for 6.
So WHAT...will be the separation between 2 championship winning teams in the heat of battle?
RZD - you guessed it. RED ZONE DEFENSE.
You can knock on the door...but that doesn`t mean the GUNZ will let you in. And in the 4th quarter, that d will hold onto that undefeated and seal the deal.

No sponsor this week. Something about a recession.
